Q&T Hi-Tech Polymer and KURZ Sign Project Development Cooperation Agreement for Embedded KINEGRAM® Technology
A joint development programme to integrate KINEGRAM® optical security technology within Q&T's embedded polymer substrate platform
Hanoi / Fürth, June 2026 — Q&T Hi-Tech Polymer Company Limited and LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co. KG have signed a Project Development Cooperation Agreement focused on integrating KURZ's KINEGRAM® optical security technology into Q&T's embedded polymer banknote substrate platform.
The cooperation brings together Q&T's polymer substrate technology and KURZ's expertise in optical security, with the two companies working jointly on the development of embedded KINEGRAM® applications for polymer banknotes.
About the Agreement
Under the agreement, Q&T and KURZ will jointly develop solutions to integrate KINEGRAM® security features within the BOPP layers of Q&T's polymer substrate structure, placing the optical security feature inside the substrate rather than applying it only to the surface.
The companies will work together to develop the process and product towards industrial maturity while exploring new application and design concepts for the banknote market.
Technology Development
The cooperation extends KINEGRAM® technology into Q&T's embedded polymer substrate architecture.
For Q&T, the programme supports the continued development of PolyShielded, its embedded-security substrate platform. For KURZ, it creates a new application environment for KINEGRAM® technology within the polymer substrate structure.
The development programme is intended to combine polymer substrate manufacturing and optical security integration within a single technical platform for future banknote applications.
