Q&T HI-TECH POLYMER AND LEONHARD KURZ SIGN STRATEGIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT:

Hanoi / Fürth, June 2026 - Q&T Hi-Tech Polymer Co., Ltd. (Q&T Hi-Tech Polymer), Vietnam's and ASEAN's first polymer banknote substrate manufacturer, and LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co. KG (KURZ) - a world-leading group in hot stamping foil and optical security technology - have officially signed a Project Development Cooperation Agreement for the “Integration of KURZ KINEGRAM® Security Features into Q&T’s Embedded Polymer Substrate”.

The agreement marks a strategic milestone in the development of a next-generation polymer banknote substrate - combining Q&T's advanced polymer platform with KURZ's world-class KINEGRAM® security technology.

ABOUT THE AGREEMENT

Under the agreement, both parties will jointly research and develop solutions to embed KURZ KINEGRAM® security features within the BOPP layers of Q&T's polymer substrate structure - the highest level of security integration, placing anti-counterfeiting features inside the banknote rather than applied on the surface. Both companies will work closely together to bring the process and product to industrial maturity, develop new application and design ideas and promoting it to the banknote market

STRATEGIC SIGNIFICANCE

This marks the first time a polymer banknote substrate manufacturer in Asia has established an exclusive partnership with KURZ - a German group with over 130 years of history and the world's foremost provider of foil security technology to the central banking industry.

The collaboration enables Q&T to offer a complete solution: an internationally qualified polymer substrate with embedded optical security features - addressing the next-generation banknote design requirements of central banks, particularly across Southeast Asia, Africa, and South Asia.

For Vietnam, the agreement advances the national goal of monetary technology sovereignty and reduced dependence on foreign supply chains in currency security - aligned with the directives of Resolution 57-NQ/TW on science, technology and innovation development.
